Holding space for pregnancy loss training
At Heartsongs Doula, we provide grief-informed, culturally responsive trainings to help caregivers navigate conversations around baby loss.
The Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss Training, created by Amy Wright Glenn (founder of The Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death), offers caregiving professionals, birth workers, and community leaders the opportunity to deepen their ability to compassionately support families through miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant loss.
This training is open to anyone with a deep interest in supporting grieving families.
We welcome people of all faiths, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, cultures, and abilities, anywhere in the world.
This 5-hour training is open to:
Birth & postpartum doulas, bereavement doulas
Midwives, perinatal nurses, lactation consultants, family nurse practitioners, obstetricians
Therapists, social workers, chaplains, pastoral counselors
Prenatal/postpartum yoga teachers, acupuncturists/TCM, chiropractors, massage therapists, nutritionists, herbalists, naturopaths, healers
Childcare providers
Hospital and hospice care professionals
Funeral directors
Faith leaders, non-profit leaders, bereaved parent activists
You’ll learn:
The Companioning Model of Care, a grief-informed approach that honors loss.
How to strengthen caregiving networks and support both families and providers.
The healing power of ritual in processing grief and maintaining connection.
Equity-based scholarships available for underrepresented caregivers and advocates.
This training is held twice a year in the Spring and Fall. Registration for the training will open in March and August.
